Visiting Lecturer

1995 – Present

Experienced college-level instructor of content presentation, regardless of artistic media. Lessons combine traditional fundamentals with innovative use of history and materials. Exercises based on professional assignments and first-hand knowledge of the business environment. Adapted semester-length courses for intensive summer workshops. Developed CSS/XHTML web sites from client-approved designs. Focus on core functionality, content management and overall user experience. Worked closely with Brand Partner Engagement, Design and Technical Lead. Implemented web accessibility with WAI/WGAC and Section 508 guidelines. Web email for GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo and desktop applications (Eudora, Entourage, Apple Mail and Outlook). Built, developed and produced illustration solutions for print, web and interactive applications.

Built standards-compliant web sites for our clients. Created XHTML/CSS templates from design assets. Populated templates with content, optimizing for a PHP environment. Designed and developed web site designs with usability, cross-browser and SEO standards. Implemented web accessibility with WAI/WGAC and Section 508 guidelines. Edited and debugged the HTML 4.0 markup (TABLE layouts, embedded style conflicts, etc.) implemented by some of our clients. Designed print media, including direct mailers and PowerPoint presentations.

Created full-functioning web mockups of new or modified content. Designed new content, updated current content and modified the markup, usually under tight deadlines. Consolidated editorial input from marketing and technical peers. Unified standards for grammar, graphics and page layout usage. Created and enforced standards for Chicago Board Options Exchange, USPC Online Tours and the company Intranet.

JWG Associates

Art Director, 1992 - 1993
(Fifth largest recruitment advertising agency in North America. Currently known as TMP Worldwide Advertising)

Designed recruitment advertising campaigns, direct mailers, corporate identity systems and other marketing material. Formatted campaigns for many page divisions and standards. Several designs were used years after their creation. Designed and implemented one or two campaigns per day. Customized structure of the Quark XPress files to allow various newspapers to change the size of the ads without distorting the art. Clients include NationsBank, BayBank, Stratus, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Beth Israel Hospital.
